hi!

My name is Emma Menke and I am an artist based out of Colorado Springs, Colorado where I live with my husband and two adventure dogs, Nala and Kai.

In 2019, I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BFA in Art Education with an emphasis in painting and photography and a minor in Art History. Shortly after I moved to Colorado Springs to teach Kindergarten through 8th Grade art in the public school system for three years. 

I have been drawn to Colorado’s natural beauty since visiting every summer with my family as a kid. In high school I started painting photographs I had taken from trips, which opened up my eyes to another love: travel. My current work is inspired by landscapes across the United States. On the weekends you can often find me road tripping across the state with my husband and our two adventure dogs, documenting the scenery around us. I paint mostly with acrylic paint but also love exploring and trying new mediums. As an artist, I want to show people the world around them as I see it. Vivid, inspiring and full of wonder.

If dangerous, why friend shaped?? Clearly I love bears so much I just had to paint 20 of them on this 16x20 piece. Its different than my usual landscapes, but I had so much fun making it!
An old favorite that I finally turned into a print. Spending this week restocking prints, getting my display ready and finishing up a few paintings before first Friday at the @dairyblock next week!
